20ᵗʰ – 24ᵗʰ MARCH 2024

Saddle up and experience stunning views, sumptuous food and relaxing stays on an Emerald Isle Adventure with Steve Berry

This 5-day Irish adventure kicks off on Wednesday at the Fishguard Ferry Terminal in Wales. We’ll catch the 2pm ferry to Rosslare, arriving in Ireland by 5:30pm. After a short ride, we’ll settle in for dinner and our first night’s stay in Wexford.

Thursday promises coastal charms as we wind our way from Wexford to Inchydoney Island Lodge. We’ll stop for coffee in Waterford, peek into Cobh (where the Titanic last docked), and finally reach our stunning island lodge perched on the Celtic Sea. Dinner awaits at the hotel’s Dunes Pub and Bistro!

Get ready for epic landscapes on Friday as we conquer the legendary Healy Pass and the world-famous Ring of Kerry. Valleys, vistas, and stunning coastlines will keep your cameras busy, but remember, some narrow stretches require careful riding. The day ends in style at The Heights Hotel in Killarney.

Saturday brings another jaw-dropping ride along the iconic R560, also known as the Connors Pass. This scenic masterpiece winds through mountains and rolling hills, leading us to the luxurious Glasson Lakehouse Hotel for a well-deserved rest.

On Sunday, you call the shots! Relax at the hotel, explore the medieval town of Kilkenny with its 12th-century castle, or delve into Dublin’s vibrant atmosphere. No matter your choice, make sure you’re back at Rosslare ferry terminal by 5:30pm to catch the 7:30pm ferry back to Wales. We’ll spend the night there before heading home on Monday morning.

So, are you ready to trade asphalt for emerald landscapes and charming Irish towns? This tour has it all – breathtaking rides, delicious food, and unforgettable memories. See you on the road!

DAY 1 – WEDNESDAY 20th MARCH - Meet at Fishguard Ferry Terminal

Meet at the Fishguard Ferry Terminal in Wales at 12h00 for a 14h00 crossing to Ireland.
We will dock at Rosslare in the south of Southern Ireland at 17h30, where our adventure will
officially begin.

We will have a short 11 mile ride to the Talbot Hotel in Wexford for our first night’s stay. And of course, a welcome drink and dinner.

DAY 2 – THURSDAY 21st MARCH - Wexford to Inchydoney Island Lodge
We will leave the hotel after breakfast and head west towards Cork, having a coffee near Waterford, before heading towards the coast at Dungarvan then to Cobh (where the Titanic last docked and saw land) before arriving at our hotel, The Inchydoney Island Lodge and Spa situated on the shoreline of the Clonakilty Bay in the Celtic Sea.

We will have dinner in the Dunes Pub and Bistro at the hotel.

DAY 3 – FRIDAY 22nd MARCH - Inchdoney Island Lodge to Killarney

Our route today is usually at the top of everyone’s Irish riding list – the Healy Pass followed by the world-famous Ring of Kerry. Valleys and vistas await along with some stunning coastlines, but there are some narrow bottlenecks which need to be ridden with care.

This is sure to be a driving day you do not forget easily… And to finish off our day in style we’ll check into The Heights Hotel in Killarney.

DAY 4 – SATURDAY 23rd MARCH - Killarney to Glasson Lakehouse

This will be another incredible day of riding. Taking in the famous R560 (Connors Pass) one of Irelands most revered roads winding its way through high peaks and rolling hills.
Our ride today is considered perhaps the best scenic driving roads in the south of Ireland, and we will drive almost all of them today as we make our way up to the stunning Glasson Lakehouse Hotel for a well earnt rest on what will be a big day’s riding.

DAY 5 – SUNDAY 24th MARCH - Return to Rosslare

Whichever route you take to Rosslare Harbour for the ferry home is about 3 hours in duration. The ferry is only at 19h30, so you will have the day to do one of three things –

– We have arranged a late check out for you at Glasson Lakehouse, so you can relax before leaving the hotel at your leisure to make the 3-hour journey to Rosslare. You need to please arrive at Rosslare by 17h30.

– You could leave the hotel in the morning, and ride down to Kilkenny which is en-route to Rosslare, two hours ride from the hotel and 75 minutes from Rosslare Harbour, explore Kilkenny and its famous 12th century castle over late morning and the afternoon before making your way to the ferry.

– Or you could leave the hotel by 09h00 and spend a few hours in Dublin before heading south to Rosslare. Dublin is an hour and a half from our hotel and two hours from Dublin to Rosslare Harbour. So you could arrive in Dublin by 10h30 and leave at 15h00 to be at Rosslare by 17h00.

Please be at the ferry terminal by 17h30 to check in ahead of your 19h30 crossing. You will arrive back into England at 23h00 and we will book you a hotel in Wales to stop over before heading home on Monday the 25th March.
