GT CLASSIC
5th to 9th OCTOBER 2023
OVERVIEW

Embark on an extraordinary four-day sporting tour, meticulously crafted to traverse the scenic landscapes of northern England and Scotland. This exclusive adventure is tailored for both gentlemen and ladies who share a deep passion for driving high-performance cars, whether it be on the exhilarating race track or the open roads.
Whether you choose to enter a pre-war, classic or modern sports car, we hold no preferences. Join us at Bowcliffe Hall, conveniently located near Leeds, for an exciting rendezvous on the Thursday at lunchtime. Over the course of the next three and a half days, prepare yourself for an exhilarating journey as we drive two race circuits and many driving roads, perfect for indulging in spirited and sporting driving pleasure each day. Our route will cover fabulous roads and the enchanting landscapes of the Yorkshire Dales, the Pennines, the Northumberland coast, and regions of The Trossachs and the Southern Uplands in Scotland.
During our adventure, we will stop at Croft Circuit and the Knockhill race track, providing the opportunity to unleash our cars in non-competitive events. Additionally, we will pay homage to the extraordinary racing driver, Jim Clark, by visiting his splendid museum in Duns, Scotland.
To ensure a delightful experience, we have selected fine hotels with wonderful atmospheres for socialising over refreshing drinks and great food, sharing tales of the day’s adventures, or exchanging anecdotes from your own motoring past.
Our grand adventure will conclude with an evening at Gleneagles Hotel. A delightful, sociable dinner awaits us at their Shooting Lodge, allowing us to revel in the company of newfound friends before embarking on our leisurely journey homeward the following day.
ITINERARY
DAY 1 – Thursday 5th OCTOBER
DRIVING DISTANCE and TIME :
We will gather at Bowcliffe Hall in Bramham, West Yorkshire, where we will commence our adventure by signing-on, followed by a warm welcome and lunch in the Bowcliffe Room.
After lunch, we will drive straight to Croft Circuit for an exhilarating afternoon of spirited track laps. Although the sessions will not be timed, drivers will have the opportunity to experience their car’s potential. The first session will cater to current racing licence holders, granting them unrestricted access for approximately five laps around the circuit. The second session will be dedicated to unlicensed participants and will involve following a pace car.
Following our time at Croft Circuit, we will drive to Aldwark Manor, located just outside Harrogate. Here, we will be welcomed with early evening drinks followed by dinner, creating the perfect ambiance to relax and enjoy the company of fellow participants.
DAY 2 – Friday 6th OCTOBER
DRIVING DISTANCE and TIME :
Following breakfast at Aldwark Manor, we will embark on our morning drive through the most captivating stretches of the Yorkshire Dales. Our route will lead us to the breath-taking Buttertubs Pass, an awe-inspiring road connecting Hawes and Thwaite. Our morning expedition will culminate at the Bowes Museum, where we will pause for lunch.
The Bowes Museum holds a wealth of fascination, housed in a grand French-style building in Castle Barnard. Guests will have the option to explore the museum’s treasures at their leisure before we continue with our journey.
In the afternoon, we will continue our adventure by traversing the exhilarating roads of the Pennines as we make our way north. Our destination for the evening will be the splendid Schloss Roxburgh, a magnificent 12th-century manor house nestled in the picturesque Scottish borders.
DAY 3 – Saturday 7th OCTOBER
DRIVING DISTANCE and TIME :
After breakfast, our journey continues as we venture along the captivating north Northumberland coastline and into Scotland. Our first destination is the village of Duns, where we will have the pleasure of visiting the Jim Clark Motorsport Museum. Following a brief but informative visit and a coffee break, we will resume our westward journey, traversing the breath-taking lowland scenery of Lanarkshire and Ayrshire, Scotland. Our route will then lead us northward, skirting the western coast renowned for its golf courses, passing Troon, skimming the outskirts of Glasgow, and finally reaching the picturesque shores of Loch Lomond overnighting at Cameron House Hotel.
Throughout the day, we anticipate approximately five hours of driving, providing ample opportunity for you to pause at your leisure and enjoy a leisurely lunch along the route. Flexibility is key, allowing you to tailor your experience as you wish.
In the evening, we will convene for dinner at the Boathouse Restaurant, nestled within the beautiful surroundings of Cameron House.
DAY 4 – Sunday 8th OCTOBER
DRIVING DISTANCE and TIME :
After breakfast, our journey continues by heading north, taking us through the Duke’s Pass en route to Knockhill race track. Similar to our previous track experiences, we will divide the group into two categories: an unrestricted session for those holding racing licenses and a more relaxed session for those desiring a gentler pace.
At Knockhill, we also have a modest bite to eat before we proceed to our next destination for the afternoon—the Lindores Abbey Distillery. Immerse yourself in the allure of this historic establishment before we embark on the final leg of our tour, leading us to the Gleneagles Hotel.
Our ultimate destination, Gleneagles, sets the stage for a memorable evening as we gather for a BBQ dinner at their renowned Shooting Lodge. This iconic venue holds significance as it was frequented by none other than Formula One World Champion Sir Jackie Stewart during his tenure running his shooting school at Gleneagles.
DAY 5 – Monday 9th OCTOBER – HEAD HOME
Once you have had breakfast, it is time to check out, say your goodbyes and head home taking memories of a wonderful experience of the inaugural GT Classic adventure.
