Angouleme Circuit Des Remparts

16th - 21st September 2026

A Grand Prix in a mythical city in a dream environment. A truly classic event which is as much about the social aspect as it is the cars!

One of our most popular and favourite annual events! The Angouleme Circuit des Remparts tour and race weekend is a truly classic event which is as much about the social aspect as it is the cars!
Angoulême is a true spectacle for fans of classic cars, historic motorsport, street circuits and rallies.

The whole weekend is packed with events starting with a Concours d’Elegance, a rally through the Cognac vineyards, a gala buffet in the impressive covered market and of course the racing on the city’s Remparts.

We are pleased to continue in our capacity as the official UK based tour operator for the event. Not only does this give us access to the best tickets but also high-quality rooms at the best hotel in town and our exclusive hospitality marquee conveniently located just outside the race paddock.

This 6-day driving tour includes return ferries, accommodation at the Hotel de France, as well as Angoulême and includes hospitality, entry and grandstand tickets as well as entry to the tour on Saturday and the gala dinner on Saturday evening.

PLEASE NOTE: All dates and ferries subject to event organisers confirmation.

Tour Details
Day 1 - 16th September - Portsmouth to St Malo

The tour begins in Portsmouth where we will meet for the 20h15 sailing overnight to St Malo. We will welcome you on board in the club lounge for an exclusive evening of buffet dining, this allows you the opportunity to meet your fellow tour companions. This evening both your on board accommodation and dinner with wine is included.

Our ferry docks into St Malo on Thursday morning. Once disembarked, we will head towards a beautiful Chateau in Chasseneuil-Du-Poitou, with a stop en route for lunch. This refined 18th-century château welcomes guests into a world of tranquility, where majestic architecture, manicured gardens, and a gentle riverside setting create an atmosphere of timeless elegance.

After a traditional French breakfast at the hotel, we have a picturesque drive down to Angouleme. As the total drive is only around two hours, we will suggest an optional coffee stop in the roadbook and then continue on to our hotel in the centre of the city in time for lunch and with plenty of time to relax ahead of our Friday evening cocktails and briefing.

Having put the cars to bed for the evening in the secure underground car park and checked into your hotel room we will distribute your rally packs and tickets over a private drink’s reception. This evening is free for you to familiarise yourself with the town and visit the Concours d’Elegance where you can expect to see an exhibition of vintage and classic cars.

This morning the scenic rally (for eligible cars*) departs on some extremely fine roads surrounding Angoulême. There are checkpoint/refreshment points along the way and an excellent 4-course lunch taken at a surprise location. This evening you have tickets for the competitors’ gala buffet dinner.

*Eligible cars are usually deemed special either by their rarity or age. If you’re unsure about your car, please feel free to ask. Previous years have seen CGT customers accepted from all ages and marques.

Today the historic racing begins! Practice and qualifying take place on the circuit during the morning sessions. We have an exclusive hospitality tent for Classic GT guests to use at your leisure throughout the day. We will offer a light lunch in the marquee for all Classic GT participants.

Your race tickets will provide access to the paddock and a numbered seat in the Cathedral grandstand on the start-finish straight with a big screen, so you do not miss any of the action. This evening, we have organised a farewell dinner at the Mercure Hotel.

After our final breakfast in Angoulême we travel back to the port in Caen for our 16:30hrs crossing back to Portsmouth. If you prefer to take your time in returning back home, we can offer you an extra night or more at the lovely Hotel De France in the Loire Valley on your way back to Caen.
