Day 1 - 25th June - Drive to Chantilly

We begin our European escape in comfort aboard the Eurotunnel Le Shuttle, departing on a Flexi Plus basis from Folkestone to Calais in the morning followed by a scenic 2.5-hour drive (200 km) south to the picturesque town of Chantilly, a journey filled with open countryside, historic towns, and quintessentially French landscapes. As you head further south, the landscape transforms into dense woodlands and gentle hills.

You’ll begin to see signs of horse country—white-fenced paddocks, grand stables, and equestrian estates hint at your destination’s noble heritage.

Experience the incredible Château de Chantilly Spread over 7800 hectares, the Domaine de Chantilly is peppered with historical monuments, prestigious sporting venues and natural landscapes, each proudly parading an illustrious history, imposing architecture, opulent splendor.

Spend a day at your own pace in Chantilly, a town where art, history, horses, and nature come together in perfect harmony. Whether you’re drawn to grand architecture or quiet garden strolls, this enchanting corner of France offers something unforgettable at every turn. You can choose to visit the Musée Condé, home to one of France’s finest art collections, second only to the Louvre, discover masterpieces by Raphael, Poussin, Ingres, and Delacroix in an opulent setting or wander through the private apartments of the Duke of Aumale, preserved with original furniture and décor.

You may wish to stroll through Chantilly’s quaint streets, browse artisan boutiques, or sample the famous Chantilly cream—still whipped by hand in traditional fashion or visit the Potager des Princes, a whimsical garden and small animal park, especially delightful in spring and summer.

For a more relaxing day you could enjoy the Auberge du Jeu de Paume spa and enjoy a glass of champagne on the terrace.

A Royal Retreat to Rustic Burgundy Charm.

Set out from the aristocratic grandeur of Chantilly and journey south through the timeless heart of France, winding your way to the tranquil luxury of Château de Courban & Spa Nuxe. This picturesque drive takes you from regal forests and medieval towns to rolling vineyards and hidden château country—a route that invites you to slow down and savour France at its most authentic.

As we drive south the landscape opens up to elegant countryside dotted with equestrian estates and classic French villages. We will stop near Troyes, a beautifully preserved town known for its half-timbered houses, Gothic cathedral, and historic centre filled with artisan boutiques and patisseries.

As we wind our way into the Burgundy countryside. The terrain becomes more intimate and charming: gentle hills, low stone walls, and vine-laced slopes stretch toward the horizon.

The final leg of the journey takes us through the Côte d’Or region, known for its quiet roads, understated beauty, and timeless rhythm of rural life.

Tucked away in the village of Courban, the ivy-clad 19th-century château offers refined comfort in the heart of Burgundy for our choice of accommodation. As you arrive, you’re greeted by the scent of lavender, the soft splash of a fountain, and a sense of perfect seclusion

A Journey Through Vineyards, Mountains & Swiss Serenity.

We leave behind the quiet luxury of Château de Courban & Spa Nuxe and head east toward the crystal-clear waters of Lake Neuchâtel. This route takes us from the rolling hills of Burgundy through the Jura Mountains, crossing into French-speaking Switzerland for an unforgettable stay at Europe’s only overwater bungalow hotel, Hôtel Palafitte.

Our journey will start by passing vineyards, quiet villages, and stone-built farmhouses. This peaceful stretch is ideal for a leisurely pace. Stop in Dole, a charming riverside town with a Renaissance old town, canals, and historic markets which is great for a coffee break or lunch by the Doubs River.

We will continue eastward where the terrain begins to shift as we enter the Jura region, one of France’s most underrated scenic treasures. With panoramic views of peaks and valleys, pristine lakes, and postcard-worthy chalets as we cross over into Switzerland.

Our accommodation for the evening is at the ultra-modern and uniquely serene Hôtel Palafitte, set on stilts above the lake—Switzerland’s only hotel built directly over water.

Todays drive captures the soul of two countries—French charm and Swiss precision—with every bend in the road revealing a new story. Perfect for wine lovers, nature seekers, and design-conscious travellers.

Today we continue to travel east from the serene Hôtel Palafitte, toward the vibrant lakeside city of Constance on the German border. We will drive through the small towns of St-Aubin and Yverdon-les-Bains, each with charming town centres and opportunities for a brief coffee break.

Roughly halfway into your journey, pause in the picturesque medieval town of Estavayer-le-Lac, perched on the edge of Lake Neuchâtel. Enjoy lunch at a traditional Swiss restaurant with lakeside terraces, serving specialties like freshwater fish, rosti, and locally sourced cheeses.

Stroll the cobbled streets, explore the 14th-century Château d’Estavayer, or relax along the waterfront promenade before continuing your journey.

After lunch, head east into the Jura foothills, following winding roads through forests, gentle hills, and farmland. Pass through quaint Swiss villages such as Marly and Murten, offering lovely views of the surrounding countryside and historic old towns.

We will cross the border into Germany near the town of Singen, where the landscape begins to open toward the expansive Lake Constance. Drive along scenic roads hugging the northern shore of Lake Constance (Bodensee) and arrive in Constance, a vibrant city known for its lively harbour, historic old town, and stunning lake views.

The beautiful hotel for the evening , perfectly positioned on the waterfront with panoramic views of the lake and Swiss Alps beyond.

Today is a day at leisure for you to relax, explore, and reconnect with nature in Germany’s Lakeside Paradise.

After days on the road through France and Switzerland, take time to unwind beside one of Europe’s most enchanting bodies of water: Lake Constance, where Germany, Switzerland, and Austria meet. Centered in the elegant city of Constance, this day is all about relaxation, gentle exploration, and soaking in the timeless beauty of the lake.

You may choose to take a boat cruise on Lake Constance to Mainau Island or Meersburg or Discover Konstanz Old Town. Have a wander through the Altstadt (Old Town) of Konstanz, with its beautifully preserved buildings, cobbled squares, and lakeside culture. Visit the Konstanz Cathedral, explore boutique shops, or relax with coffee in a traditional Konditorei (patisserie).

Enjoy a leisurely lunch at a lakeside restaurant, cycle the Lakeside Paths or relax at the RIVA Spa, the day is yours to explore.

Drive through Lichtenstein, Davos and Fluela Pass to St. Moritz.

A Majestic Journey Through Switzerland’s Heartland to a Palace in the Peaks.

This unforgettable drive takes you along glittering lakes, through lush valleys, and over dramatic mountain passes, ending at one of the most iconic hotels in the Swiss Alps. We will follow a southeasterly route through the rolling landscapes of Thurgau and Appenzell, Pass through St. Gallen, home to a UNESCO-listed abbey and library, before the landscape begins to climb into the Pre-Alps.

As we approach Sargans, Switzerland’s famed “Heidiland” region opens up—named after the world-famous storybook heroine. We will make our way through the Rhine Valley, hemmed in by dramatic peaks, vineyards, and fortress towns.

From Landquart, we will follow the route through Klosters, a resort town beloved by royals, and enter the Gotschna Tunnel—a dramatic alpine passage stretching over 4 kilometers, cutting through the mountains beneath the towering Gotschnagrat peak. Marvel at the raw beauty of glacial lakes, pine forests, and distant peaks as you descend into the Engadine Valley, home to St. Moritz.

Nestled at the base of alpine trails and overlooking Lake St. Moritz, the Grand Hotel des Bains Kempinski is a masterpiece of Belle Époque architecture infused with modern luxury.

This journey is not just about reaching the destination—it’s about falling in love with the road itself. From lake to lake, valley to peak, each kilometre reveals the timeless beauty of the Swiss landscape, leading you to one of Europe’s most luxurious alpine retreats.

Today is the day you have been waiting for!! Our first Alpine Loop of the Tour! We will leave the hotel at 09:30 and almost immediately hit the Julier Pass, then rush north to the Albula Pass before having a coffee in Davos, then we’ll take on the Fluela Pass and head south back to St/ Moritz. A 100 mile journey that will take just over 3 hours to complete, which means you can be back at the hotel for lunch time and an afternoon of relaxation. Of course, this driving loop is entirely optional and if you do not wish to take part, you can stay at the hotel or explore St. Moritz and its surrounds.

Spend the day immersing yourself in the elegant spirit of St. Moritz, one of the world’s most iconic mountain resorts. From your luxurious base at the Grand Hotel des Bains Kempinski, everything is at your fingertips—breathtaking landscapes, high-end shopping, historic landmarks, alpine sports, and world-class cuisine.

This evening we will dine at the Les Saisons within the hotel at 19:30, regrouping ahead of tomorrow’s departure to Andermatt.

Today we descend through breathtaking mountain passes, charming villages, and lush lakefronts en route to the serene retreat of Giardino Ascona. We will travel southwest via the Maloja Pass, a thrilling series of switchbacks offering panoramic views of the valley below. Glide past Lake Sils and Lake Como’s northern arms as you approach Italy’s famed lake region.

Stop for lunch in the idyllic village of Menaggio on Lake Como’s scenic western shore. This charming lakeside town is the perfect place to relax and soak in views of the shimmering water and surrounding hills.

Enjoy a leisurely stroll along the promenade or a quick espresso before continuing your drive.

After lunch, we will continue southwest through the Italian-Swiss border region, passing through lush valleys and rolling vineyards only to re-enter Switzerland and approach the palm-fringed lakeside town of Ascona on Lake Maggiore.

Tonight we will stay in the luxury 5 star hotel of Giardino Ascona and enjoy a group dinner in the restaurant, one of the region’s best fine dining restaurants where you’ll experience culinary perfection.

Spend a carefree day discovering the wonders of Ascona and the surrounding Lake Maggiore region. Nestled between palm trees and mountain peaks, this corner of Switzerland offers a unique blend of Italian charm, Swiss elegance, and natural beauty.

Explore quaint alleyways filled with artisan boutiques, galleries, and the iconic Church of San Pietro e Paolo. Grab a cappuccino or fresh pastry from a café overlooking the water—this is Swiss-Italian dolce vita at its finest.

Take a drive and circle northward to Locarno, known for its Italianate piazzas, lakeside cafés, and ride the funicular to the historic Madonna del Sasso Sanctuary, perched above the town. Visit Cardada-Cimetta via cable car for a short hike with alpine-lake views or explore Gambarogno’s botanical gardens across the lake (via car ferry or road).

The route between Giardino Ascona and Victoria-Jungfrau Grand Hotel & Spa in Interlaken is one of the most spectacular drives in Switzerland.

This iconic day tour leads you through three legendary mountain passes—Gotthard, Furka, and Grimsel—on a scenic drive rich with history, nature, and alpine elegance. The tour ends in style at Interlaken’s premier grand hotel.

Today we climb into the heart of the Alps on the Tremola Road, Switzerland’s most historic mountain route, with its cobbled switchbacks and sweeping curves.

At the summit (2,106 meters), pause to admire alpine lakes and the historic Gotthard hospice — a traveller’s refuge since medieval times.

We will stop for lunch with glacier views on the Furka Pass and then descend into the Gletsch valley and rise once again over the Grimsel Pass, a hidden jewel of the Swiss Alps. Known for its otherworldly granite terrain and sapphire-blue reservoirs, Grimsel offers a peaceful finale to your mountain adventure.

Nestled between Lakes Thun and Brienz and framed by the mighty Jungfrau massif we will check in to the renowned Victoria-Jungfrau Grand Hotel & Spa, where alpine grandeur and refined comfort welcome you after your unforgettable day of driving.

Take a day off from driving and immerse yourself in the best of the Bernese Oberland. Whether you crave high-altitude adventure, alpine charm, or local flavour, these curated experiences offer something unforgettable — all easily accessible from Interlaken.

  • Ride the legendary Jungfrau Railway through glacier tunnels and rugged peaks to the Top of Europe. From the Sphinx Observatory, gaze out over the mighty Aletsch Glacier. Explore the Ice Palace, enjoy a hot drink above the clouds, and experience a true alpine marvel.
  • Grindelwald is a lively alpine village with scenic walks, boutique shopping, and sunny café terraces.
  • Take a quick 10 min funicular ride to breathtaking lake and mountain views of Harder Kulm platform, suspended above Interlaken. Overlook Lakes Thun & Brienz with the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau standing proud behind. Sunset here is simply unforgettable.
  • Board a vintage cogwheel train from Wilderswil to reach Schynige Platte, a high alpine plateau famous for its botanical alpine garden, panoramic hiking trails, and views of the three giants: Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau.
  • Visit Switzerland’s Waterfall Wonderland – Lauterbrunnen Valley, one of the world’s most photogenic valleys and see the Staubbach Falls.
  • For something more relaxing you can go to Rugenbräu Brewery which offers a peek into the region’s brewing heritage. You can sample local beers and whisky, tour the facility, or unwind at the cozy brewery bar.

As we reach the end of the tour we enjoy a cross-border journey of Alpine Elegance and French Flair. Leave behind the lakes and peaks of the Bernese Oberland and travel northwest through rolling farmland and peaceful Swiss villages. Enjoy views of the Jura foothills, charming chalets, and gentle vineyards en route back to the French border.

Located just a short detour off your route, Mulhouse’s National Motor Museum (Cité de l’Automobile) is a must for car enthusiasts and design lovers alike. Featuring over 400 classic vehicles, including Bugattis, Rolls-Royces, and Formula 1 racers, this is the world’s largest collection of historic automobiles.

As you re-enter the countryside, the road winds gently through the Alsace region—past vineyards, f lower-decked villages, and dense pine forests. You’ll ascend into the peaceful Bruche Valley, where the Relais & Châteaux hotel La Cheneaudière awaits us for our final evening together as we reminisce and share the memories we have made across the 14 days of our time together.

Set in the heart of the Vosges forest, this luxurious wellness retreat offers warm hospitality, expansive spa facilities, and serene forest views. An ideal end to the tour with Michelin-level farm-to-table Alsatian cuisine paired with regional wines.
