A once-in-a-lifetime journey through Japan’s vibrant cities, majestic mountains, and scenic coastlines—where every drive is unforgettable and every stop an experience.
We begin in Tokyo, Japan’s buzzing capital, before heading south to Hakone for breathtaking views of Mount Fuji and relaxing hot spring baths. Next, we journey west to Nagoya, home to the world-renowned Toyota Automobile Museum—a must for motoring enthusiasts. After all, “Japan is Toyota.”
We then swap cars for the Shinkansen (Bullet Train) to Hiroshima for one night, before returning to Nagoya to collect our cars and continue to Kyoto—the cultural heart of Japan. Here, ancient temples, peaceful gardens, and traditional tea houses offer a glimpse into Japan’s timeless heritage. You might even spot a geisha gliding through Kyoto’s historic Gion district.
Our route then takes us northeast through Kanazawa, Takayama, and Karuizawa (often called the “Hamptons of Japan”), with stunning drives through the Japanese Alps—lush forests, pristine rivers, and dramatic mountain passes.
Along the way, enjoy luxurious hotels, refined dining, and authentic cultural experiences. Each evening brings comfort and indulgence, while each day behind the wheel unveils a new side of Japan.
Best of all, you’ll drive your own supplied modern car, guided by two experienced tour managers who handle every detail.

We have a minimum number of participants required for all of our events enabling them to be viable for us to run – this is usually 10 cars unless stated otherwise. In the event that we don’t reach the minimum numbers, the tour may be cancelled at which point your booking deposit will be refunded to you, or if preferred, allocated to another event of your choice.
As with all of our tours and events, this tour is protected by ABTOT and ATOL.
