As one of Classic Grand Touring’s most popular and asked for tours, we offer a luxurious twelve-day self-drive 4×4 adventure, limited to just 10 couples, to explore this wonderful country.
Over 12 fabulous nights, our journey begins in Cape Town, taking you through the enchanting Karoo desert, the renowned Garden Route, and the scenic winelands of Paarl and Franschhoek, culminating back in Cape Town.
The tour encompasses a blend of luxurious hotels, magnificent safari lodges, Big 5 game reserves and delightful surprises, all while embracing the concept of “Rustic Luxury.”
The adventure strikes a balance between driving (in your own high quality 4×4 crew cab vehicle), relaxation, and immersing oneself in the African essence, with the added bonus of exclusive experiences such as nights under the stars and access to restricted game reserves and lesser-known driving passes.

We have a minimum number of participants required for all of our events enabling them to be viable for us to run – this is usually 10 cars unless stated otherwise. In the event that we don’t reach the minimum numbers, the tour may be cancelled at which point your booking deposit will be refunded to you, or if preferred, allocated to another event of your choice.
As with all of our tours and events, this tour is protected by ABTOT and ATOL.
